Gino Out, Maey Moving Closer to the Top

Gino dela Pena was one of those players who entered Survivor thinking he knows very much the game – that he can manipulate everyone by his words. Oh well, that’s at least what he thought. He thought that he was making a good play for himself – he kept on washing his hands that he’s just a follower and that somebody else is deciding for their alliance. He thought Maey and Betong are one hundred percent on his side. But I think he was just hallucinating. How would Maey and Betong trust someone like him who left his partner to form alliance with another group and when he realized that their ship is sinking, he immediately went back to his partner (Stef) to slay an original ally who supposedly doing another plan behind their backs. Is that someone that you could trust? Well, not if you were Maey and Betong, who saw how these Bulan guys take down the original Tala tribe members one by one. The two are never afraid to make fun of themselves but they are not dumbs. They know that these original Bulan tribe members were just using them to take one another down.

When they saw a good opportunity like Mara and Arnold giving the Immunity bracelet (to Maey) and promised that they were going to the finals, they grabbed it. Well, that was indeed a very clever choice. They were not indebted to anybody so no one can accuse them of being backstabbers or something. Now because of the move that they decided to take, they not only get rid of one strong competitor but more importantly, they are in a very safe position than ever.

Gino was obviously blindsided and I bet it was hard for him because in his mind, everyone is his people. Well, nah-ah Gino. On the next Immunity challenge, everyone is hoping that Arnold would not win so they can get rid of him. But as we all know, Arnold is one tough competitor who is always giving 110% in every challenge. The challenge went down with him and Maey as the final two competitors. Maey was very determined to beat Arnold and yeah right she did it this time – fair and square. Maey won the Immunity and safe in the next Tribal Council. Guess what happened next, Mara went up to Maey to congralute her and ask if she could return the Immunity bracelet that she gave. Wooah Mara has a really thick face indeed. Ano yon bawian?

Well, whatever happens one thing is for sure and that is Maey is dark horse – not Mara and not Stef. Mara said that Stef was just there because she was basically just riding the waves but what about her? She has been kissing Arnold’s ass for the longest time and isn’t that riding the waves too? She will not be there without Arnold. But Maey is different. Maey came from a losing tribe of Tala. She worked her ass of to stay in the game – she’s great in endurance challenges too and not to mention how she can be very logical with the way she speaks. I really think Maey has a great chance of winning Survivor.

Let us see if Maey can keep up until the Final Tribal Council. Let us also watch out who will be going next and be the 5th member of the jury in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.

Montero Brothers in Survivor Philippines

Survivor Philippines | Posted by survivormuch
Jan 11 2012

What if KC Montero joined in Survivor Philippines with his brother Troy Montero as his partner and not Geneva Cruz who quitted on Day 1? Then, the Philippine Volcano Rugby teammates John and Arnold would have met a tough competition. But sadly, no, KC didn’t join in with his brother Troy. Anyway, we saw how these Montero brothers would look like in a challenge together.

Tonight’s episode of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown featured the castaways’ loved ones. This is Troy’s second time to guest on the show as he visited his wife Aubrey Miles on last season of Survivor. What about next year? Would Troy be finally a castaway? We’ll see…

The challenge was a messy one literally, as the castaways together with their loved ones are tasked to dive in to a mud pit to fill their buckets with mud. They were not allowed to use their hands to scoop in some mud but nevertheless they can use different parts of their body. Whoever has the heaviest bucket of mud after the allotted 5 minutes will win the reward challenge.

Every castaway seems eager to win the challenge to be able to spend time with their loved ones in a hotel resort but in the end, no one even came close to the Montero brothers.

KC clearly knows so many techniques and very clever to find a way to win a challenge. He saw that at the edge of the mud pit lays bigger and heavier pack of mud so he settled for those knowing that it will definitely weigh more. In the end, right, no one even came close even the intense duo of Arnold and Chris, another Philippine Volcano rugby player.

As part of the reward challenge, KC got to choose two of the castaways with their loved ones to join with them in the hotel resort trip. Without thinking much he chose his closest ally Gino (together with his sister) and Betong (with his sister) to make up for the last Reward challenge wherein Betong only got a glass of water reward. However, the tricky part was when Richard told KC that he also needs to pick one castaway who needs to be separated from his “loved one”.  At first, KC seems confused but then again he chose Arnold who is with his teammate. The choice was indeed logical since others are with family members like Mara with his dad, Maey with his sister and Stef with her mom unlike Arnold with his teammate/buddy.

Although KC obviously justified his choice, we know that KC also did that as a form of revenge (of some sort) to Arnold who tried to vote him out last Tribal Council. In this stage of the game, KC is like playing party poker, he is bluffing by calling Arnold brother, saying how sorry he is to make that decision but deep inside he wants Arnold out of the game. By the looks of it, KC is having a better hand compared to Arnold.

Arnold definitely needs to work double to win Immunity challenge again or else he might soon follow his teammate John in the jury house. We will find out more in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.

John Odulio Voted Off of Survivor Philippines

Survivor Philippines | Posted by survivormuch
Jan 09 2012

John, KC and Gino wanted to vote off Arnold seeing how big threat he is but they could not because Arnold has been winning back to back Immunity challenges. Arnold is not clueless and he’s not dumb either to feel that these three guys are up to something. He knew that John seems to distant himself already and instead treating KC as his closest ally/brother now. Of course, Arnold knows exactly what to do so when John chose to bring him with Betong in the Spa reward that he won, he knew he needed to get back his partner.

Arnold used all the sweetest words and promises to John to make sure that they are still solid. From the looks of it, he bought everything Arnold said. Well, personally, I think Arnold was indeed genuine that he wants to go to the end with John. Oh well, we really do not know what’s going on in Arnold’s mind.

So Immunity challenge, John didn’t seem to be intensed and eager to win the Immunity since he feels he’s safe no matter what – he has alliance with KC and on the other hand he also feels safe with Arnold. So when Arnold won, John knew that KC will be the target.

He came to KC and revealed that Arnold wants him out and Gino is already talking to everyone to vote him out. KC was shocked to hear Gino’s name so he asked John again and he said “yeah si Gino”. Then, KC talked to Gino and right there and then they sensed that John is playing them.

John talked to Maey, Stef, Betong with Gino on the side on how he thinks they should vote out Mara to surprise Arnold that everyone is against him. The tribe knew that Mara has Immunity bracelet so they hesitated if it the plan is true or if it will work out. Well, this conversation also made Gino, Maey, Betong, Stef and even KC that John can easily backstab his own partner when in fact Arnold has done nothing wrong with him. What is the assurance that John will not do the same thing with them?

Richard read the votes Mara and Arnold voted for KC, John voted for Stef (playing safe. not choosing any sides), KC voted for Mara but he clearly mentioned that that vote must be for John but just in case Mara use the bracelet for him or something and finally Gino, Maey, Stef and Betong voted for John.

John Odulio Survivor Philippines

With that, John who thinks he is super safe, John who thinks he can fuel the tension between KC and Arnold and KC and Gino and the rest versus Arnold, John who thought he is winning Survivor became the third member of the jury. I must say that is one great blindside! Yes, that’s blindside!

John voted out in Survivor Philippines

Now, Arnold and Mara must be feeling scared already as they realize that they are the minority already. Poor Mara she thinks she’s on top. She thinks she’s sitting pretty with the two volcanoes. Now what!

Mara Survivor Philippines

She must be very wise in using her Immunity bracelet because she could only use it once and then boom! Now, I bet she will be extra nice to Maey, Betong, Gino and Stef. How about Arnold? How can he work his way with everything that has happened?

Arnold Survivor Philippines

Oops he did that kind of look again....

We will see more on Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.

Sophie Clarke Wins Survivor South Pacific

Survivor South Pacific | Posted by survivormuch
Dec 21 2011

Survivor South Pacific is one exciting and emotionally-draining season and it ended with another surprise as Sophie Clark, 22-year-old medical student won this season beating Coach Wade (3-time Survivvor player) and Albert Destrade and yes she beat Ozzy Lusth too.

Ozzy owned this season from the moment he took a risk to voluntarily bring himself to Redemption Island to beat out Christine and eventually get even numbers with the Upolu tribe at the merge. After Cochran sabotaged the entire Savaii tribe, Ozzy decided that Redemption Island is his home. He is the king of Redemption Island beating every single castaway who faced him in the duel.

After Brandon gave up his Immunity necklace to save Albert, he faced Ozzy in Redemption Island and again Ozzy beat him like he always do with all the other castaways who stepped in that territory. With this, Ozzy found his way back into the game to join Sophie, Albert, Rick and Coach.

Ozzy continued his winning strike as he won the Immunity challenge against the four original Upolu tribe members. However, in the Tribal Council, Ozzy’s cockiness prevailed when he bashed Sophie saying how she is a spoiled brat, selfish bitch. He thought this would make the tribe vote against Sophie but no Coach and Albert together with Sophie decided to vote out Rick.

After that encounter, Sophie became more agitated of Ozzy’s presence. On the other hand, Ozzy decided to eat coconuts and fish he caught by himself. He didn’t have any plan of sharing his foods to others because he needed to prepare himself for the final challenge to seal his fate in this season of Survivor.

Ozzy Lusth Survivor South Pacific

I must admit, I was rooting for Ozzy from the very beginning but in this last challenge, for some reason, I felt it was indeed for Sophie. The challenge was tough – it involves both physical and mental state of mind. Ozzy was the first one to complete the puzzle pieces followed by Coach but this didn’t stop Sophie from striving. She knew deep in her heart that she could beat Ozzy, especially in puzzles. And yes, she did! Ozzy startled when host Jeff Probst announced that Sophie got her first correct pattern of the puzzle then second and third while Ozzy is just starting to figure everything out and with Ozzy’s third piece, Sophie already completed the eight patterns proclaiming her as the winner of the Individual Immunity challenge.

Ozzy knew right there and then that that challenge cost him his chance of winning Survivor and $1,000,000. Sophie, the spoiled brat, selfish bitch that he called beat him right in his face.

However, Ozzy was hoping for at least a tie between him and Albert since Coach promised to bring him to the end but Coach is not too foolish to bring someone like Ozzy who is a sure winner once he stepped in the final 3 so there Ozzy Lusth became the final member of the jury. So the final three – Albert, Coach  and Sophie

Albert,Coach,Sophie

In the Final Tribal Council, Sophie managed to come up with logic explanation why she deserved to win the title. She may not be as a social player like Albert but in terms of strategies she was good and she dominated the challenges too winning three individual Immunity challenges including a challenge that finally sealed Ozzy’s fate as jury member. In the end, Coach got 3 votes from the jury and 6 votes for Sophie.

Sophie Clark is the winner of Survivor South Pacific.

Congratulations! This season may be Ozzy’s but the Sophie’s victory is still much-deserved! And yes, Ozzy gave his vote for Sophie too.

Biggest Backstab in Survivor Philippines

Survivor Philippines | Posted by survivormuch
Dec 15 2011

Carlo Gonzales of Tala tribe in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown welcomed Arnold, Mara and Stef who came from Bulan tribe. He knew that they were former tribemates of Maribel who was known as the cancer that weakened their original Tala tribe. He knew that Arnold was once too physical and nearly injured him from a previous challenge when they were still from opposing tribe. But then again, Carlo was not quick to judge. He didn’t judge any of the original Bulan tribe members instead they welcomed them with open arms, ready to form solid alliance with them when he saw that Arnold was sincere or so he thought and so had we.

Carlo was honest when he mentioned to Arnold that they should vote out Stef because she seems weak and she looks as if her heart is not in the game. He didn’t do that decision based on loyalty to Tala tribe. Why? Because he already trusted Arnold. He thought they were similar, he thought their thinking is the same.He thought they were making the tribe strong by removing the weak no matter if he/she is Tala or Bulan originally. Arnold agreed and even threw lots of accusations about how Stef looks very weak in every challenge, how she is not useful in camp ever since they were in Bulan and blah blah blah. With what Arnold said, Carlo, Chuckie and Maey became more determined to oust Stef.

But tonight, Arnold of Volcanoes proved to Carlo and to the rest of the viewers that he isn’t like Carlo. They were not feeling the same thing. They were not thinking the same thing. Their intentions were different. VERY DIFFERENT! Why? Because he is NOT genuine, he is NOT sincere, he is NOT honest and he is NOT fair which everything Carlo is.

Richard Gutierrez asked the Tala tribe what would be the basis of their voting, Carlo said what he truly believed in “to keep the tribe strong” and Arnold backed-up his statements.

After the voting, Richard asked if anybody with Immunity bracelet or “dagdag bawas anting-anting” would like to use it. And boom! Arnold said he would and he would like to give it to Stef….!!!! What!!!!! There’s a part of me that felt Arnold would do it but then again I thought he’s a genuine person and he seems nice so he would not betray Tala tribe who welcomed them. But yeah he proved himself wrong and not only did he betray the Tala tribe, he personally backstab Carlo who was nothing but nice and welcoming to him and to all of them.

They may call it the biggest blindside so far, but to me it is the biggest and worst level of backstabbing. With that, Carlo Gonzales was voted off of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown. His exit and the way he reacted with the result again proved how gentleman and sports he is. As for Arnold, yeah right, he said someething, did another thing and said another thing again. He said “he wanted to keep the tribe strong” then he voted out Carlo by giving his Immunity bracelet to Stef (who they all believed the weakest in their tribe) then finally he said he felt he broke the morale of the tribe when they voted out Carlo. BUT WHY DID YOU DO THAT?  He could’ve at least be a man and justify his decision to vote out Carlo but no he’s trying to wash his hands clean. Sounds familiar huh? But let Chuckie says it all “Nararamdaman ko noon na ‘Lintik ka! Trinaydor mo kami”.

Isabel Granada Voted Off of Survivor Philippines

Survivor Philippines | Posted by survivormuch
Dec 10 2011

The new Bulan tribe faced Tribal Council after they lost the Immunity challenge against the new Tala tribe headed by Carlo Gonzales. The scenario is that there were 3 original Bulan members – KC, John and Gino and there were 3 original Tala members Isabel, Betong and Arthur. The Bulan guys tried to talk to Isabel to vote out Arthur but since Isabel couldn’t keep quiet about the plan, they decided to go in a different directions – yeah they target Isabel.

Isabel Granada Survivor

On the other hand, Isabel, Arthur and Betong were all solid to vote out Gino. So to break the tie, Isabel and Gino had to create fire using the flint to break the knot (just what Amanda and Charles did in the Survivor Philippines Palau). It was indeed a no-match since Isabel was not able to create fire.

Gino vs Isabel

With that, Isabel Granada became the first casualty of the individual voting in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.

Isabel Granada Voted off of Survivor Philippines

It was totally heartbreaking for Arthur and Betong because they know that any moment that they lost the Immunity challenge, which the three original Bulan members are planning, they can be easily voted out.

How are they going to survive? How will the original Tala members react with this? Are Arnold, Mara and Stef still loyal to the old Bulan tribe? It would be great if Arnold will decide to play with Carlo and the rest of Tala tribe against his original alliance John, KC and Gino. Well we’ll see more in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.

New Tala Wins

Survivor Philippines | Posted by survivormuch
Dec 08 2011

Don’t you just feel the intensity and eagerness in Carlo Gonzales‘ aura? Well it is pretty obvious that the man is on fire! He is burning with the desire to win the game and not just win the game but play as clean as possible. Now that’s what you call SURVIVOR!

In tonight’s episode of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown, the new Tala tribe composed of Arnold, Mara, Chuckie, Maey and Carlo showed that they are determined to win the Immunity Challenge. Arnold was pretty admirable when he said that he wants to show that despite the fact that he came from Bulan, he’s playing and he wants to win for the new Tala tribe. Well, we do not know if he said that only because he and Mara will obviously be in danger once they lose the Immunity challenge. But we see 100% eagerness in Arnold too.

However, when talked about eagerness and determination, it is Carlo Gonzales who showed it undoubtedly. I am a firm believer that in Survivor – the victory is always in the hands of the puzzle-solver. No matter how fast the team was if the puzzle solver is not good then your tribe will surely lose. The same happened to the new Bulan tribe. Gino was all-out effort in pouring water in their pipe and they did finish first but when John was solving the puzzle, Tala tribe immediately followed their lead. Carlo waste no time in solving the puzzle but he makes sure to make his moves systematic. He finished the puzzle ahead of John but when Richard corrected it, Carlo’s puzzle was actually upside down so he had to flip the whole puzzle to correct it. John of Bulan tribe had a lot of time to catch up since Carlo needed to start all over but still Carlo’s determination and systematic play prevailed. Phew! That was indeed an intense game! Congrats Tala tribe and congrats Carlo!

Carlo Gonzales Survivor

Well, didn’t you notice that there were no Temptation reward? Or did it end as well since the tribes were already shuffled?

Anyway, Bulan tribe will face the Tribal council tomorrow. According to teaser there were ties which is obvious since there were 3 original Tala and 3 original Bulan. KC, John and Gino were very into “dirty” tactics already. They first tried to lure Isabel Granada to vote with them against Arthur but when they saw how Isabel reacted – how she wanted to have “group meeting” they immediately resorted to Arthur to vote out Betong. If the Bulan guys were smart enough, they would realize that what they did was a desperate move. Is Arthur actually dumb to believe them? Well obviously, no one from the original Tala tribe was lured. Now, there will be a tie-breaker but the question now is who will win the duel?

Tomorrow is going to be an exciting episode in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.
