Carlo Gonzales of Tala tribe in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown welcomed Arnold, Mara and Stef who came from Bulan tribe. He knew that they were former tribemates of Maribel who was known as the cancer that weakened their original Tala tribe. He knew that Arnold was once too physical and nearly injured him from a previous challenge when they were still from opposing tribe. But then again, Carlo was not quick to judge. He didn’t judge any of the original Bulan tribe members instead they welcomed them with open arms, ready to form solid alliance with them when he saw that Arnold was sincere or so he thought and so had we.
Carlo was honest when he mentioned to Arnold that they should vote out Stef because she seems weak and she looks as if her heart is not in the game. He didn’t do that decision based on loyalty to Tala tribe. Why? Because he already trusted Arnold. He thought they were similar, he thought their thinking is the same.He thought they were making the tribe strong by removing the weak no matter if he/she is Tala or Bulan originally. Arnold agreed and even threw lots of accusations about how Stef looks very weak in every challenge, how she is not useful in camp ever since they were in Bulan and blah blah blah. With what Arnold said, Carlo, Chuckie and Maey became more determined to oust Stef.
But tonight, Arnold of Volcanoes proved to Carlo and to the rest of the viewers that he isn’t like Carlo. They were not feeling the same thing. They were not thinking the same thing. Their intentions were different. VERY DIFFERENT! Why? Because he is NOT genuine, he is NOT sincere, he is NOT honest and he is NOT fair which everything Carlo is.
Richard Gutierrez asked the Tala tribe what would be the basis of their voting, Carlo said what he truly believed in “to keep the tribe strong” and Arnold backed-up his statements.
After the voting, Richard asked if anybody with Immunity bracelet or “dagdag bawas anting-anting” would like to use it. And boom! Arnold said he would and he would like to give it to Stef….!!!! What!!!!! There’s a part of me that felt Arnold would do it but then again I thought he’s a genuine person and he seems nice so he would not betray Tala tribe who welcomed them. But yeah he proved himself wrong and not only did he betray the Tala tribe, he personally backstab Carlo who was nothing but nice and welcoming to him and to all of them.
They may call it the biggest blindside so far, but to me it is the biggest and worst level of backstabbing. With that, Carlo Gonzales was voted off of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown. His exit and the way he reacted with the result again proved how gentleman and sports he is. As for Arnold, yeah right, he said someething, did another thing and said another thing again. He said “he wanted to keep the tribe strong” then he voted out Carlo by giving his Immunity bracelet to Stef (who they all believed the weakest in their tribe) then finally he said he felt he broke the morale of the tribe when they voted out Carlo. BUT WHY DID YOU DO THAT? He could’ve at least be a man and justify his decision to vote out Carlo but no he’s trying to wash his hands clean. Sounds familiar huh? But let Chuckie says it all “Nararamdaman ko noon na ‘Lintik ka! Trinaydor mo kami”.
The new Bulan tribe faced Tribal Council after they lost the Immunity challenge against the new Tala tribe headed by Carlo Gonzales. The scenario is that there were 3 original Bulan members – KC, John and Gino and there were 3 original Tala members Isabel, Betong and Arthur. The Bulan guys tried to talk to Isabel to vote out Arthur but since Isabel couldn’t keep quiet about the plan, they decided to go in a different directions – yeah they target Isabel.

On the other hand, Isabel, Arthur and Betong were all solid to vote out Gino. So to break the tie, Isabel and Gino had to create fire using the flint to break the knot (just what Amanda and Charles did in the Survivor Philippines Palau). It was indeed a no-match since Isabel was not able to create fire.

With that, Isabel Granada became the first casualty of the individual voting in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.

It was totally heartbreaking for Arthur and Betong because they know that any moment that they lost the Immunity challenge, which the three original Bulan members are planning, they can be easily voted out.
How are they going to survive? How will the original Tala members react with this? Are Arnold, Mara and Stef still loyal to the old Bulan tribe? It would be great if Arnold will decide to play with Carlo and the rest of Tala tribe against his original alliance John, KC and Gino. Well we’ll see more in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.
Don’t you just feel the intensity and eagerness in Carlo Gonzales‘ aura? Well it is pretty obvious that the man is on fire! He is burning with the desire to win the game and not just win the game but play as clean as possible. Now that’s what you call SURVIVOR!
In tonight’s episode of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown, the new Tala tribe composed of Arnold, Mara, Chuckie, Maey and Carlo showed that they are determined to win the Immunity Challenge. Arnold was pretty admirable when he said that he wants to show that despite the fact that he came from Bulan, he’s playing and he wants to win for the new Tala tribe. Well, we do not know if he said that only because he and Mara will obviously be in danger once they lose the Immunity challenge. But we see 100% eagerness in Arnold too.
However, when talked about eagerness and determination, it is Carlo Gonzales who showed it undoubtedly. I am a firm believer that in Survivor – the victory is always in the hands of the puzzle-solver. No matter how fast the team was if the puzzle solver is not good then your tribe will surely lose. The same happened to the new Bulan tribe. Gino was all-out effort in pouring water in their pipe and they did finish first but when John was solving the puzzle, Tala tribe immediately followed their lead. Carlo waste no time in solving the puzzle but he makes sure to make his moves systematic. He finished the puzzle ahead of John but when Richard corrected it, Carlo’s puzzle was actually upside down so he had to flip the whole puzzle to correct it. John of Bulan tribe had a lot of time to catch up since Carlo needed to start all over but still Carlo’s determination and systematic play prevailed. Phew! That was indeed an intense game! Congrats Tala tribe and congrats Carlo!

Well, didn’t you notice that there were no Temptation reward? Or did it end as well since the tribes were already shuffled?
Anyway, Bulan tribe will face the Tribal council tomorrow. According to teaser there were ties which is obvious since there were 3 original Tala and 3 original Bulan. KC, John and Gino were very into “dirty” tactics already. They first tried to lure Isabel Granada to vote with them against Arthur but when they saw how Isabel reacted – how she wanted to have “group meeting” they immediately resorted to Arthur to vote out Betong. If the Bulan guys were smart enough, they would realize that what they did was a desperate move. Is Arthur actually dumb to believe them? Well obviously, no one from the original Tala tribe was lured. Now, there will be a tie-breaker but the question now is who will win the duel?
Tomorrow is going to be an exciting episode in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.
From previous post, I was expecting that Mara will automatically be eliminated now that her mother Maria Isabel Lopez was voted off since they accepted the temptation reward. I reviewed the videos and yeah right Richard wasn’t able to say that “pag tanggal ang isa automatically tanggal din ang isa sa kabilang tribe” which he said to Jackie Forster and Angelicopter when he offered the same temptation reward for the first time. I would say that it is PROBABLY Richard’s fault since he just nodded with Maria Isabel Lopez when she was saying so many things like “she doesn’t want her daughter to be voted off pag natanggal sya”. Understandable but where did the “Mara should surrender the Immunity bracelet or else she will be voted out” rule came from? It’s just funny. Oh well.
Anyway, Tala tribe proved that they are now healing from “cancer” since they were able to vote out Maria Isabel Lopez because in today’s reward challenge they put up a strong win.
They were hungry (literally and figuratively) for the win so despite the yucky foods like ari ng baka, ulo ng manok, atay, etc that were included in the smoothie drinks they were still able to win the challenge. You can see the desire in their eyes. Arthur showed the eagerness the same with other Tala tribe members which explains why they clearly won this challenge. Move over volcanoes. LOL.
They will now enjoy a great barbecue picnic and a trip to a beautiful scenery. Meanwhile, Carlo volunteered himself to face the temptation reward without consulting the tribe. I guess, he was thinking “not to accept” the temptation reward so why bother to decide who among them will face the said temptation. We’ll see what will happen next as the merge is already approaching and “anting-anting” as the temptation reward (yeah as if Immunity bracelet is not anting-anting). Will Carlo accept it or what? Let us find out in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.
Tala Tribe compared Maria Isabel Lopez to a cancer in their tribe. Well, obviously she did all her best to annoy and frustrate all the Tala tribe members. When she was in the Bulan tribe, Tala was winning. They were invincible but when Maribel joined their tribe after accepting the Temptation reward, Tala weakened. 4 members – Jackie Forster, Angelicopter, Filo and Ellen Adarna all decided to quit out of frustration. On that note, yeah she can be compared to cancer.
On the other hand, Maribel was very clear on her confessional interviews that she is aiming to weaken the tribe with her presence. It seemed successful because now Bulan tribe is on a winning streak however Tala had enough of her. Carlo Gonzales was one patient guy with genuine intention in the game. You see him very calm despite being defeated and physically harmed by the Volcanoes in many challenges but after the last Immuity challenge – after he saw how Gino and Mara went up to Maribel giving the Immunity bracelet and signalling to vote out “C” , Carlo had enough. Maribel got into the very last nerve of Carlo and right there and then he swore that Maribel and her daughter Mara will leave the island after the Tribal Council.
Maribel thought Carlo was threatening her. Well yeah right he’s threatening her but he didn’t mean it in a physical manner. Carlo is indeed one intelligent player. He used his mind wisely to help save the tribe from cancer. He need not steal the Immunity bracelet to get rid of Maribel. What he did instead was he asked Isabel Granada to wear off the Immunity bracelet and hand it to him for a show. And with that, Maribel easily fell into the bait.
Maribel thought that Isabel Granada gave up their immunity so Carlo and Arthur could use it so despite giving her word to Isabel that she would not vote them out she did.
The ending, she wasted her opportunity to get further in the game. Carlo was brilliant in assessing Maribel’s personality. He knew that Maribel would fall for that easy, no-brainer trick. It was in fact really scary and it’s a gamble for Carlo and Arthur. Had Maribel not deceived by that fake act, they could be out of the game by now but still they took that chance and they have faith in one another.
Now, the cancer is gone for good. Maria Isabel Lopez was voted off of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown. Because of the Temptation reward that she and her daughter Mara Yokohama took, Mara should be out of the game too. I hope they will stick to their rules.
The question now is can Tala bounce back now that they are already cancer-free? We will find out in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.
Are we still watching Survivor Philippines? Is this Survivor? Or maybe this is just an underwhelming spoof of the real thing? Come on! As a real fan of the game, it is becoming painful to watch the show. After Geneva Cruz quitted, tandem of Angelicopter and Jackie Forster quit too then now Ellen and Filo quitted too? Come on! Is this a joke? Survivor Philippines staff should’ve make sure that their contestants (since this is a celebrity edition) are all willing to fight til the end and not just use the show for exposure because let us admit it quality wise Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown is far worst already. Okay drama wise maybe they are winning.
Another big joke was the evacuation of the castaways during the typhoon. Survivor series faced so many typhoons already but they didn’t panic so early. Moving the castaways to a safer place is like “oh time out muna, mamaya na lang natin ituloy ang Survivor paghinto ng ulan”. They are like children playing, seriously! Well, I guess the staff was affected by Angelicopter’s remark that their life seems in danger and the production staff is not doing something about it. BIG JOKE!
I am pretty sure that the next season (if there will still be another one) will not be a celebrity edition anymore especially with all these drama and hassles. Oh speaking of next season, maybe it is best to proceed to the next season because this Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown is more like a joke only – just for the sake of having another season of Survivor.
Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown lost the essence of the Survivor game.
P.S.
Ruffa Gutierrez and Annabelle Rama in tonight’s episode — what’s the sense? Yeah because this is all a joke!
Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown is indeed full of drama this early. First, it was Geneva who quitted which in my opinion is understandable because she was dealing with personal issues with KC Montero and their relationship. However, another pair of Survivor castaways quitting? Not acceptable anymore.
Jackie Forster and Angelicopter are obviously strong women, they are competitive, they are outspoken and they seem to survive the game so why did they decide to quit? Okay, we understand their point that they do not want to sacrifice their morales just for the sake of the game. But come on Survivor TV show has been around for like more than a decade already and fourth year here in the Philippines so aren’t they familiar with the nature of the game? Richard Gutierrez is right, you want comfortable life then go ahead and join Big Brother.
Castaways must at least be ready about the nature of the game it is not called Survivor for nothing. I truly do not understand Jackie and Angelicopter’s decision to quit. They are indeed whiny and all but I had that hope that they will overcome this and be better at the game. But they did not give themselves a shot instead they chose to leave.
In the first Immunity challenge, Jackie and Angelicopter faced Richard for the Temptation reward but they did not accept it because as they say their focus is the tribe… “Tribe, tribe, tribe”. So what now? Did they come up with this decision to quit to protect their tribe Tala? How are they suppose to overcome the situation if they will just quit?
Survivor mirrors real life. One important lesson is not to compare yourself from others. So what if the Bulan tribe is having easier time heading to the challenge area and Tala tribe was climbing hills or mountains or whatnot? So what if they were able to eat good meal before the challenge? These are certainly a lot of whining which is not suitable for Survivor game. Okay let us go ahead and compare. In the first challenge, Tala tribe won and they got flint as additional reward. But what happened? They were still not able to make fire on their first night of having that flint whereas Bulan tribe was sleeping comfortably with fire in their camp without using a flint. Is that unfair too? Bulan’s boat sunk and they had to jump out of the boat in the middle of strong waves and yet they were just thankful that they came out alive. So the bottom line is WHY COMPARE?
Believe it I am personally rooting for Jackie Forster but their decision to quit the game is a big BS! They can defend their decision for all they want – come up with great defenses and speeches but the fact that they are quitters remains. It is definitely disappointing. You do not say that “you are not playing for the money” because there are lots of people who are willing to take those spots (be it for the money or the experience) but they can’t because they were not chosen and here you are having that once in a lifetime chance will just give up like that? With that kind of act, are they even suitable to be called Survivor castaways?
Survivor is about surviving no buts, no ifs.
