Jackie Forster and Angelicopter Quit Survivor Philippines

Survivor Philippines | Posted by survivormuch
Nov 28 2011

Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown is indeed full of drama this early. First, it was Geneva who quitted which in my opinion is understandable because she was dealing with personal issues with KC Montero and their relationship. However, another pair of Survivor castaways quitting? Not acceptable anymore.

Jackie Forster and Angelicopter are obviously strong women, they are competitive, they are outspoken and they seem to survive the game so why did they decide to quit? Okay, we understand their point that they do not want to sacrifice their morales just for the sake of the game. But come on Survivor TV show has been around for like more than a decade already and fourth year here in the Philippines so aren’t they familiar with the nature of the game? Richard Gutierrez is right, you want comfortable life then go ahead and join Big Brother.

Castaways must at least be ready about the nature of the game it is not called Survivor for nothing. I truly do not understand Jackie and Angelicopter’s decision to quit. They are indeed whiny and all but I had that hope that they will overcome this and be better at the game. But they did not give themselves a shot instead they chose to leave.

In the first Immunity challenge, Jackie and Angelicopter faced Richard for the Temptation reward but they did not accept it because as they say their focus is the tribe… “Tribe, tribe, tribe”. So what now? Did they come up with this decision to quit to protect their tribe Tala? How are they suppose to overcome the situation if they will just quit?

Survivor mirrors real life. One important lesson is not to compare yourself from others. So what if the Bulan tribe is having easier time heading to the challenge area and Tala tribe was climbing hills or mountains or whatnot? So what if they were able to eat good meal before the challenge? These are certainly a lot of whining which is not suitable for Survivor game. Okay let us go ahead and compare. In the first challenge, Tala tribe won and they got flint as additional reward. But what happened? They were still not able to make fire on their first night of having that flint whereas Bulan tribe was sleeping comfortably with fire in their camp without using a flint. Is that unfair too? Bulan’s boat sunk and they had to jump out of the boat in the middle of strong waves and yet they were just thankful that they came out alive. So the bottom line is WHY COMPARE?

Believe it I am personally rooting for Jackie Forster but their decision to quit the game is a big BS! They can defend their decision for all they want – come up with great defenses and speeches but the fact that they are quitters remains. It is definitely disappointing. You do not say that “you are not playing for the money” because there are lots of people who are willing to take those spots (be it for the money or the experience) but they can’t because they were not chosen and here you are having that once in a lifetime chance will just give up like that? With that kind of act, are they even suitable to be called Survivor castaways?

Survivor is about surviving no buts, no ifs.

Team Tala vs Team Bulan

Survivor Philippines | Posted by survivormuch
Nov 25 2011

Survivor Celebrity Doubles Showdown is indeed tribe vs tribe to the intense level! Team Tala seems to be too tight in the sense that they are treating one another as family member. On the other hand, Bulan tribe is sticking to one another because they know that they need each other to reach their individual’s group. With that, we know the distinction – we know their differences.

Maribel going to Bulan Tribe

Maria Isabel Lopez and daughter Mara decided to get the temptation reward. I believe that Maribel has good intentions in getting that temptation reward. It would be a great plan to weaken the other tribe by her presence and at the same time having Immunity bracelet for her and her daughter. HOWEVER, I don’t think she understood the whole situation. In my opinion, she only said that she’s blabbing to confuse the Tala tribe but the truth is that SHE’S NOT and in fact, she is just genuinely CLUELESS. It’s annoying how she kept on repeating “Tribe shuffle” when she went to Tala tribe. Let’s look back and see how she got this word “Tribe shuffle”— well her daughter Mara tried to explain to her that the scenario is LIKE a Tribe Shuffle wherein she will go to the other tribe while Mara will stay. From this, she picked up the “tribe shuffle” thing and mentioned it over and over like she’s really understanding the whole scenario. For crying out loud, it is a temptation reward and the reason why you got the immunity bracelets is because you agreed to accept the “consequence” of splitting.

Maribel-Survivor Philippines

Maria Isabel Lopez glancing at her former Bulan tribemates

Oh well, she didn’t think that Tala tribe was already familiar with the whole concept which is why her whole act of “guys there will be a tribe shuffle. It’s happening na soon” is so annoying. She’s so ironic that she kept on saying that she does not want to be there and yet she agreed to transfer tribe (of course with her own reasons). She’s saying how she does not want to be maltreated and yet she’s maltreating the whole tribe starting off with “Sorry hindi ko kayo kilala eh. Si Isabel and Chuckie lang” to pointing fingers at Ellen Adarna saying “gaya ng pagmamaldita nito” to calling Jackie Forster a “balyena” and how she mentioned she’s afraid that the tribe will steal her immunity bracelet but what did she do, she boasted how she has the Immunity bracelet when she doesn’t really have to.  I think she’s all confused and just ironic.  That’s no strategy obviously.

Tala Tribe a.k.a the Clepto Tribe

Ellen Adarna is so funny and fierce at the same time! How she narrated their tribe’s attempt to steal Maribel’s immunity bracelet while she went away to take a bath was so hilarious,  “the Tala tribe a.k.a the Clepto tribe” lead by Isabel Granada immediately grabbed her bag to find the bracelet. Oh Ellen was so true yet she’s adorable. I think she’s my favorite as of this early. Go Ellen! LOL.

Volcanoes tandem a.k.a the “Halimaws”

John and Arnold of Philippine Volcanoes rugby team were indeed suited to be nicknamed as the “Volcanoes’ because they are like volcanoes when it’s game time. They are transforming into “halimaw” (no pun intended) mode during challenges. They are volcanoes that are ready to erupt and destruct whatever or whoever is around them. I have no intention of judging their “competitiveness” since Survivor is indeed a game. But you can really see the looks in their faces…. so scary!

Richard explained the rules of the game “No pinning down. No hitting. No jiu jitsu. No boxing. None of what you’re practicing” he even mentioned “LET US KEEP THE GAME CLEAN”. For that reason, it is acceptable to throw in all the bashes at the “Volcanoes” John and Arnold. Without those rules, without Richard saying “let’s keep the game clean” yes they can use the defense of “we’re just frustrated and hungry for Immunity” but Richard made himself clear. So yeah let the viewers decide.

John versus Carlo Survivor Philippines

John (Bulan) versus Carlo (Tala)

Carlo vs Arnold Survivor Philippines

Ouch!

Carlo earned a lot of respect with his sportsmanship in this game. When you first look at him, he looks hot-headed and all but in this challenge, he showed that he is indeed patient and his intentions of winning in a clean way is genuine. The guy has a big heart and he’s a man! Two volcanoes are continuously going against him – John carried him all the way down the water as if they were in a wrestling match and Arnold rolled the giant ball on top of him as if no one or nothing is blocking his way but still Carlo remained composed and calm. Angelica and Jackie were even more affected and hurt for him than he was. But it’s kinda bizaare how Richard didn’t stop the game at this sight. It is obviously foul but he said nothing and he just reacted when Angelica barged in trying to stop Arnold.

Tala tribe lost and now they need to decide who will be the first to voted off of their tribe. We will find out the answer on Monday on Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.

WINNER/LOL Moment of Survivor
“KC are you a statue? You’re not moving at all.” Betong of Tala tribe to KC of Bulan Tribe.

Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown

Survivor Philippines Season 4 Premiered Tonight

Survivor Philippines Season 4 premiered tonight. The season was shot in the beautiful island of Palawan where we can see nice and clear water unlike the previous season wherein they didn’t get to show any challenges in the water. This season, the celebrity castaways were welcomed through one tough challenge in the middle of the ocean that is 15 feet deep.

Don’t you just love the opening salvo? Action right away! No celebrities in gown. No fake press conference. No nonsense. It is just perfect for the game Survivor! Great job indeed to the staff and crew.

Anyway, the 20 castaways were all in the middle of the ocean and they needed to unlock the cage so they can swim to the shore where two Immunity bracelets awaited them. On their way to the shore were sacks that contain different things that they can use in their camplife. Most of the castaways particularly Chuckie Dreyfus had a hard time swimming up to the shore. Geneva Cruz is lucky to have KC Montero as her partner as KC carried Geneva in his back when she ran out of energy to swim.

Gino Dela Pena and Stef Prescott were the ones to reach the shore. They immediately target the pots hoping to get immunity bracelet. But it was the tandem of John and Arnold who first got the immunity bracelet followed by Isabel Granada and partner Chuckie Dreyfus.

Schoolyard Pick

John and Arnold being the first to find the immunity bracelet chose their first tribemates for the Bulan (Dyosa ng Buwan) tribe. They chose Gino and Stef since Gino helped John in the ocean. Chuckie and Isabel of Tala (Diyosa ng mga Bituin) picked Arthur Solinap and Carlo Gonzales first.

The complete list of the Bulan tribe include:

John Odulio and Arnold Aninion

Stef Prescott and Gino Dela Peña

Geneva Cruz and KC Montero

Maria Isabel Lopez and Mara Lopez

Ellen Adarna and Filo Cucueco

Tala tribe:

Chuckie Dreyfus and Isabel Granada

Arthur Solinap and Carlo Gonzales

Aifha Medina and Alyssa Alano

Jackie Foster and DJ Angelicopter

Maey Bautista and Betong

The comic duo Maey and Betong being the last one picked asked “May sarili ba kaming tribe”? LOL.

Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown: Rules Explained

The concept of having a partner bothered me in the beginning since how is it going to be Outwit, Outlast and Outplay if they are relying to a partner from the beginning but host Richard Gutierrez explained the rule that they will be in pairs but in the end still only one can be the Ultimate Sole Survivor. At least, that put the record straight.

As early as their first day, we can already sense who will be the pasaway this season and we will see more of that tomorrow. Anyway, looks like KC Montero indeed practiced to make fire using kusot and bamboo. Great job! Well, if you know that you are joining Survivor that’s definitely on top of your list. Does this mean KC learned every Survivor move? We will see in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Doubles Showdown.

Pity is for the Losers

Survivor Philippines | Posted by survivormuch
Oct 29 2010

Survivor has no room for pity. Look what happened to Aira, she wanted to save Michelle and was very vocal that she deserves the chance well what now, Michelle got the chance but not the one who felt pity, which is Aira.

Another tribal council once again. I am personally excited to see who will be voted out but watching and hearing Richard’s questions really irritates me. Here are examples of his annoying questions: Read the rest of this entry »

4-Element Challenge

Survivor Philippines | Posted by survivormuch
Sep 01 2010

Earth, Water, Fire and Wind. Four elements that were used for the First challenge in Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown. Richard Gutierrez explained to the castaways the rule:

Castaways will run their way up the wall and jump off the “trampoline” ropes until they are able to go down. Then they will find hoopla rings in the muddy water and when they got three rings they can move on across the smoldering coal and try their luck to shoot the hoopla rings to designated poles. First two castaways to complete the challenge will win special scrolls.

Jon Hall was the first to climb and get down the wall followed by Read the rest of this entry »

Survivor Philippines Male Castaways

Male castaways of Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown will not be left behind with a very wide variety of personalities from rock star to matinee idol to a cager, doctor, to hunk model up to member of the third sex. Surely they will offer so much to the viewers that will make the game even more intense and more exciting. So here are the Male Castaways of this season Survivor Philippines Celebrity Showdown before we see them in action tonight on the pilot episode.

Buhawi Meneses Survivor

1. Buhawi Meneses

Buhawi is a member of Parokya ni Edgar. He is a self-confessed fan of Survivor and he in fact auditioned for the first season of the reality show. Will this mean he knows how to play the game so well based on the things he observed while watching seasons of Survivor both foreign and local? Will this make him rock all the way until he became the First Celebrity Sole Survivor? We will get to know more Buwi starting this Monday.

Survivor Doc Ferdz

2. Doc Ferdz Recio

He is a host of the environmental show Born to be Wild alongside Survivor first season’s castaway Kiko. Did Doc Ferdz got a lot of advise from Kiko? And will the nature of his work help him a lot to survive the harsh environment? We’ll see if he can go further than what Kiko achieved.

Ervic Vijandre Survivor

3. Ervic Vijandre

Close friend of First Sole Survivor of Survivor Philippines – JC Tiuseco. In fact, they basically have the same background and aura, cager, shy-looking, quiet type of guy. Will he use the same tactics as JC before- portrayed an underdog image at the beginning then emerged as the strongest player at the end? Or will he do the opposite and attack from the very beginning. He can be compared to a silent river and for sure he got much more to offer. Plus, why is he crying in the teaser, very intriguing really. Ervic is one castaway we shall watch out for.
